What we build.

Four businesses, each aimed at work where specialized workflows and better systems create a durable advantage. Below is what each one actually does today, and how far along it is.

02 — Real estate

Roots Costa Rica

Launching 2026

A marketplace for buying and selling property in Costa Rica, built map-first because that is how people actually look for somewhere to live. Owners and agents list directly, buyers make offers and book viewings, and the closing that follows is coordinated in one place — with the escrow officer and the lawyer working from the same timeline as the buyer and the seller.

What it does

  • Map-first search, with nearby amenities on the map.
  • Direct listings from owners and agents, with photos, pricing, and price history.
  • Offers and viewings: make, accept, or decline an offer and book a viewing.
  • Closing coordination on a shared timeline — document requests, identity checks, and status for all five parties to the deal.
  • Real-time messaging between the parties, with reporting and blocking.
  • Buyer tools: saved searches with alerts, market comparisons, a mortgage calculator, and a due-diligence checklist.
  • Bilingual throughout, English and Spanish, on web and mobile.

Roots coordinates the transaction; it is not a party to it. The closing module is a shared system of record — Roots does not hold client funds.

03 — Financial intelligence

Pocket-CFO

Private beta

A plain-English finance layer for owner-led businesses. It answers the questions an owner actually asks — how much cash is there, what is the margin, how long is the runway, is this growing — without requiring anyone to read a balance sheet to find out, and it works alongside the accounting system you already use rather than replacing it.

What it does

  • Cash, margin, runway, and growth from a metric engine that does exact integer arithmetic in cents — no floating point — with an audit trail behind every figure.
  • Runway that returns nothing at all when the books cannot support a number, rather than a confident guess.
  • Connectors built for QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Zoho Books, FreshBooks, and Wave.
  • Daily and monthly CEO briefs, written in plain English.
  • Pocket-Advisor, a separate console for fractional CFOs running a book of client companies.
  • Mandatory two-factor authentication, encrypted provider tokens, and row-level separation between tenants.

The connectors are written against each provider's real API, but none are live yet — they are waiting on production credentials from the providers. The briefs switch on with them.

04 — On-device software

Portable Pocket Series

Launching 2026

A family of small, focused apps that live on the device in your pocket. No accounts, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs of any kind — no analytics, no crash reporters, no advertising code. You open the app, it does its job, and your data stays on your device.

The first titles

  • FinanceCalc Pro — 179 finance calculators across loans, mortgages, bonds, retirement, and tax, with Excel export that writes working formulas rather than flat values. Exact decimal money arithmetic throughout.
  • Pocket Journal — a one-minute private journal that builds the day from your photos, calendar, and mood. Dictation runs on-device, and backup is encrypted, opt-in, and goes to your own iCloud rather than to us.
  • Screenshot Inbox — reads the screenshots piling up on your phone and files them into real photo albums, entirely on-device. It makes no network calls at all: an automated audit fails the build if any appear, so it works in Airplane Mode.

Two of the three can reach the network, and only when you ask them to. FinanceCalc Pro can fetch updated public reference data — inflation, Treasury rates, tax tables — when you tap to refresh, and sends nothing about you when it does. Pocket Journal can attach the weather to an entry, which is off by default and asks first.
