Portable Pocket Series — Training
Pocket-Boxer
Launching 2026
Rounds, bells, and a coach in your corner — built for the gym floor.
Pocket-Boxer is a round and interval timer for boxing, kickboxing, and anyone who trains in rounds. Set up your rounds, rest, and warnings once. Then read the clock from across the gym, hear the bell over the music, and use big, glove-friendly tap zones instead of tiny buttons to pause, add time, or skip ahead. Build station circuits for a class, or let Fight IQ call punches, combos, and defense out loud while you work the bag.
Add an Apple Watch and your wrist does more. Feel every cue, control the class timer from a coach remote as you walk the floor, or leave the phone in your bag — the watch runs the rounds itself, records your heart rate, and hands the summary back later. There is no account, no advertising, and no tracking, and your templates stay on your own devices.
- Glove-friendly tap zones across the whole screen
- Fight IQ calls punches, combos, and defense
- Apple Watch sessions, even without your iPhone
Features
Rounds and intervals
- Build templates round by round, each with its own work time, rest time, and optional name, such as Warmup or Sparring.
- Quick Start sets the rounds, round length, and rest on one screen when you just want to go.
- Add warnings at any point before a round ends — one minute, 30 seconds, 10 seconds — plus a 3-2-1 tick.
- A five-second count-in — 5, 4, READY, SET, GO — before the first round.
- Loop a template until you stop it, or finish on four bells when the last round is done.
- Leave the timer screen and it keeps counting. A card on the main screen takes you back, and the clock catches up after you switch apps.
Made for the gym floor
- Digits that fill the screen, in six colors on black, dark gray, or light gray, in landscape or portrait.
- Glove Control turns the whole timer into large tap zones: start or pause, 30 seconds off or on, next round, and reset — no small buttons to find.
- Gym Wall Mode plays the bells at full volume through the speaker, on their own or over your music, and keeps the screen awake in landscape.
- Show a timer-only view on a TV or external display instead of mirroring your whole screen.
- A flash at every change or at every bell, and an auto-dim for dark gyms.
Bells, voice, and haptics
- Seven bells — including a classic boxing bell, a deep gong, and double and triple rings — set for the whole app or per template, preset, or drill.
- A spoken ten-second warning, a tick at 30 seconds and in the last three, and an optional separate sound for the start of rest.
- Sound, haptics, both, or neither, set separately for round cues, the count-in, and glove taps.
- Haptic patterns you can tell apart by feel: one thump to start, two at 30 seconds, three at 10, and a long rumble when the round ends.
- Tap any sound to hear it before you choose.
Fight IQ coach callouts
- Fight IQ calls punches, combos, defense, and footwork out loud during your work rounds, on top of any rounds template.
- Boxing or kickboxing. Kickboxing adds kicks, knees, and elbows; boxing never calls a kick.
- Four modes — Technical, Pressure, Fight Simulation, and Defense — and five skill levels from Beginner to Expert.
- Build drills from numbered punches and named moves. Fight IQ mixes your combos with ones it builds and avoids calling the same thing twice in a row.
- Focus and pace shift through each round, with a live intensity meter on screen.
- Two coach voices, calling punches by number (1–6) or by name.
- Five starter drills modeled on the styles of famous boxers.
Classes, stations, and sharing
- Station Rotation: name each station, set its time, and the timer rotates through them with a bell at every change.
- Coach mode sends your timer to nearby iPhones and iPads set to Fighter, with no internet or account needed.
- One tap on Regroup calls the room back with five bells, a five-second buzz, and five flashes on every device.
- GET READY appears in the last ten seconds of each phase while you coach.
- Share any template, station preset, or drill as a file or a QR code, or send it straight to a connected device.
- Back up your library to your own iCloud Drive, automatically or on demand, and merge or replace it on another device.
Apple Watch and Apple Health
- Feel every cue on your wrist while your iPhone runs the session, with a different tap for the start, rest, warnings, and the end.
- Coach Remote puts start and pause, 30 seconds off or on, next, reset, and Call Back on your wrist, with the live round and time.
- Phone in your bag? The watch runs rounds, stations, and Fight IQ by itself, with bells, spoken round numbers, and haptics.
- Heart rate recorded during solo sessions and summarized round by round on your iPhone.
- A history of your last 30 watch-recorded sessions, with streaks, milestone notifications, and a shareable streak card.
- Finished sessions saved to Apple Health as boxing workouts.
- Two watch-face complications: Quick Solo Start and a Live Timer.
Why you can trust it
Pocket-Boxer has no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or analytics code, and it sends nothing to us. Your templates, drills, settings, and history stay on your devices. Heart rate moves only between your Apple Watch, your iPhone, and Apple Health, and backup to your own iCloud Drive stays off until you turn it on.
Each round is timed against the clock rather than by counting ticks, so long sessions do not drift, and the timer is still right when you come back from another app. The link between coach and fighter devices is encrypted. Heart-rate readings are a training aid, not a medical measurement.
Version updates
Pocket-Boxer is not released yet. These are pre-release builds: 0.9.0 is the release candidate, which has not yet been to TestFlight or the App Store, and the earlier numbers were assigned afterward to mark what each stage delivered.
